A maestro in the making: Satyajit Ray showing the first reels of the unfinished "Pather Panchali" to Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy (erstwhile Chief Minister of West Bengal, India) in 1953 at Light House Miniature Hall. The first reels were produced by Satyajit Ray with his own resources and was stuck due to lack of funds. Two years later, the film was completed with Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy's initiative and it made a landmark in celluloid history.
